Welcome to the Dubai Expert Training Programme! This is the official destination training course for travel consultants, especially tailored to meet the needs of travel executives by the Government of Dubai, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
Is the training for me?
Yes! Dubai is one of the UK and Ireland’s most exciting and fast-paced destinations which will create many opportunities in the coming months and years. All tourism and leisure industry executives or anyone with a commercial interest in Dubai would benefit from this course, but it is of particular value to travel agent and tour operator staff who are in direct contact with, and sell to, the consumer.
How does the training work?
Progression through the training material will occur at a steady pace, to allow a gradual assimilation of new and more in-depth information about Dubai as a holiday destination. The training will be provided in two levels - Level 1 and Level 2, and you will work through the modules in succession.
Please note that once you have registered a link to the instruction page is available on the left-hand panel of the message board, which will appear when you sign in. It is important that you read these instructions before you begin.
What benefits are there?
Travel industry executives will receive certificates at the end of Level 1 and Level 2 which will confirm you hold the Dubai Expert qualification, and a sticker to display in your agency window if you are a travel agent. This will signal to potential customers that your agency is a valuable source of advice on Dubai.
Completion of the programme will secure a clear advantage in winning sales, access to privileges and eligibility to be considered for future visits to Dubai.
For travel agents one of the most exciting results of becoming a certified Dubai Expert is a place on our referrals list. This means your name and organisation’s contact details will be sent out to every public enquiry received by the DTCM UK & Ireland.
All registered delegates will also be kept up-to-date with Dubai developments by e-mail and through the on-line message board, ensuring that you are a truly valuable source of up-to-date Dubai information. The on-line message board will also provide you with the full picture of the latest Dubai news.
How long will the training take and what commitment is required?
Timewise it will take on average 30 minutes to work through one module. There are 18 modules, so you can anticipate spending in total approximately 9 hours to complete the whole programme. If you were to cover two modules per week, you would be able to complete both levels over a period of two months. Whilst participation in this course is free of charge, you would incur the normal internet log-on charges.

Once you have submitted your registration, your application will be reviewed and you will be informed whether it has been approved or not. If it is approved we will send your user name and password details in a separate e-mail. Whilst we will endeavor to process your application as quickly as possible, please allow up to five working days for the approval process.
